Although the Walk to Emmaus and Chrysalis weekends can never be repeated, individuals may serve as members of the inside or outside team.
Like the participants, team members also grow in their relationship to Christ. Their role is primarily one of servanthood.

A participant, commonly known as a pilgrim for Emmaus and a caterpillar for Chrysalis, has a sponsor. The sponsor, already having attended an Emmaus or Chrysalis weekend, will:
- Assist with the application and preparation process
- Provide transportation to and from the event
- Help with any personal responsibilities that the participant may have during the weekend
- Pray for the participant before, during and after the weekend
- Encourage participation at Group Reunions and monthly Community Gatherings
The Gathering is a once a month meeting of the local community for worship, communion, and fellowship. Although it is primarily for participants of an Emmaus or Chrysalis weekend, anyone can attend.
The Gathering usually begins with praise through song often followed by announcements and a short business meeting. The highlight of the event is a worship service which includes Holy Communion. Finally, everyone enjoys fellowship and refreshments.
